Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister to visit Strasburg

It is expected that at a meeting chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Switzerland and current Chairperson of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CMCE) Mrs. Micheline Calmy-Rey will focus on the future of the European Court of Human Rights and the results of the Interlaken Conference, roles and responsibilities of the Council of Europe, activities of CE on the situation in Georgia, relations between the CMCE and the European Union, the reforms in the CE.

At the end of meeting the chairmanship of the CMCE will be transferred from Switzerland to Macedonia for the next 6 months.

Moreover, Micheline Calmy-Rey will report on Switzerland’s chairmanship of CMCE for the last 6 months, and the Foreign Minister of Macedonia will reveal the priorities of his country for the presidency of the organization. According to the secretariat of the Council of Europe, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has confirmed his visit to Strasburg.
