Sweden's oldest newspaper publishes article about Azerbaijan

An article was published in Swedish weekly newspaper 'Kalmar Läns Tidning' (April 18-23, 2010) in connection with Azerbaijan's ambassador to Sweden Rafael Ibrahimov's speech at the Higher School of Economics, University of Kalmar.

Kalmar Läns Tidning is the oldest newspaper, published in Sweden since 1827. It publishes thousands of copies, the statement said. The newspaper also publishes in electronic format.

According to the publication, Ibrahimov spoke about historical and political sides of the country. Ambassador also stressed the economic development of Azerbaijan. He emphasized the most important geopolitical role of the country in the context of international cooperation and energy corridors. He also raised the question of priorities in the further intensification of non-oil sectors of the economy.

Later Ibrahimov spoke about the activities of the country in attracting foreign investments. He noted emphasized AZPROMO's role, as well as the need for such statements.

Rafael Ibrahimov stressed the country's leading role in regional economic development and spoke about export from Azerbaijan in details, the report said.
