Azerbaijani official: PACE will discuss report on Azerbaijan at its June session

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Vice President and head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, Samad Seyidov, said the structure is likely to discuss the report on Azerbaijan at its June session.

"Before submission of the report to the session for discussions, it should be discussed by the organization's monitoring committee in April," Seyidov said on the ruling New Azerbaijan Party's Web site.

He said all want the report to be objective. "In this document, the reporters should note the economic development of Azerbaijan, democratic processes in the country and other positive steps," Seyidov added.

The PACE monitoring group visited Azerbaijan in February. They met with the governmental officials and representatives of public organizations. The monitoring group has prepared a report on the visit's results.
