20 March 2010 [11:13] - TODAY.AZ
On March 25, Azerbaijani MP Asim Mollazade will go to Belgium to attend a round table on Nagorno-Karabakh.
"On March 25, MP Asim Mollazade will make a visit to the Belgian capital Brussels to attend the roundtable on the theme "Stability and security in the South Caucasus, Nagorno-Karabakh and searching successful solutions or failure," the press service of the Parliament reported.

The event, organized by the European Policy Center, will exchange views on conflict prevention in the South Caucasus, including Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, restoring peace and stability in the region and other issues.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts. Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh region and the occupied territories.
