07 December 2009 [12:14] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan prepares for the next two-year phase of the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) signed with NATO.
Deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov said it would be third two-year phase of IPAP.

The deputy minister said the work done within IPAP would be evaluated first by the Azerbaijani government agencies in March-April, 2010 and then by NATO.

Azimov said IPAP plans were implemented by about 99 percent.

He said the next two-year phase expected to start in June, 2010.

The government of Azerbaijan and NATO will approve the next two-year plan on the eve of April-June.

The deputy minister said one of the IPAP commitments taken by Azerbaijan was an appointment of civilian to the post of defense minister.

“Until than the defense ministry will carry out the structural reforms. Civilians will lead some offices of the Defense Ministry as after these reforms," he said.
