Caucasus Muslims Board chairman asks to reopen mosque

04 December 2009 [18:15] - TODAY.AZ
“Narimanov district believers” religious community appealed to the Caucasus Muslims Board Chaitman Haji Allahshukur Pashazade with a request to resume work of the Abu Bakr mosque, the religious community said.

The appeal says that registration problem of the religious community was not solved by Narimanov district executive power and the State Committee on Work with Religious Associations.

Though registration deadline is restricted and the community has all the necessary documents for the re-registration, community says that are not given the certificate on a legal address.

The community says the problem has been created deliberately and asks the Caucasian Muslims Board chairman to help solve the problem.

Abu Bakr mosque was closed down after a terror attack in it in August, 2008.
