90th anniversary of Azerbaijan's diplomatic service marked in Netherlands

A conference dedicated to establishment of the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan`s Diplomatic Service has been held in the Netherlands, bringing together ambassadors of foreign countries in Amsterdam, employees of diplomatic corps, Dutch officials and journalists.

Azerbaijan`s ambassador to the country Fuad Isgandarov opened the conference.

Isgandarov informed the participants of the history of establishment of Azerbaijan`s Diplomatic Service.

The Ambassador stressed the “key role” of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev in building Azerbaijan`s foreign policy.

President of Klingenthal Institution Jaap de Zvan stressed the “rapid development” of Azerbaijan and the country`s “growing profile” in the Southern Caucasus.

The Dutch professor also underlined Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring Europe`s energy security.

Professor of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Brenda Shaffer spoke about Azerbaijan`s history.

Shaffer also answered questions from journalists.
