Armenian may be appointed assistant to chief negotiator for Turkey's EU admission

For the first time Turkish citizen of Armenian descent can take post an of expert in the secretariat led by State Minister for EU Affairs Egemen Baris, chief negotiator for Turkey's accession to the EU.

Leo Suren Alepli has been elected to post of civil servant for EU affairs among 115 candidates.

The Hurriyet newspaper reports that Armenian Leo Suren Alepli should pass an oral examination.

After that Turkish intelligence body will have the final say about his appointment.
