Our municipal election expenditures will depend on number of candidates: Azerbaijan Liberal Democratic Party

“About 630 members of our party have taken signature lists for the municipal elections of 2009 on an individual basis,” Azerbaijan Liberal Democratic Party Chairman Fuad Aliyev said.  

He said about 340 have submitted signature lists and about 230 candidates have been registered,”

“Our funds do not allow us to purchase air time on television for campaigning of party candidates who will contest the elections on an individual basis. But we will prepare campaign posters with old slogan "To brighter days with a white dove,” he said.

“Our spending will depend on a number of candidates. We are going to spend at least 10,000 manats,” he said.  

Azerbaijan will hold municipal elections on Dec. 23. The candidates will contest 15,682 places in 1,718 municipalities.
