After the meeting of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers in Dushanbe, defense minister of Azerbaijan started his visit to Tajikistan on Nov. 11.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Azerbaijani defense minister Safar Abiyev.
Discussed were issues of development and expansion of the relations in military and military-technical fields between the two countries.
Emomali Rahmon noted all-round and dynamic development of Tajik-Azeri relations, expressing pleasure with further development of defense ties between the countries.
Parties placed special attention on training of military personnel and rising professionalism of armed forces.
In meeting, in focus were also regional security questions and the situation in Afghanistan.
