28 October 2009 [17:37] - TODAY.AZ
The delegation led by chairman of the Turkish parliament’s commission of foreign affairs Murat Mercan is meeting with the members of Azerbaijani parliament’s international and interparliamentary relations committee.

Mercan said to see Turkish flags flying in the Turkish Martyrs’ Lane in Baku was a surprise for them.

Murat Mercan said decision was made at the meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to hold the meeting of the members of the Turkish parliament’s commission of foreign affairs and members of Azerbaijani parliament’s international and interparliamentary relations committee at least once in six months.

“These meetings will be held not only in the capitals, but also in other cities of the two countries. For example, the next meeting will be held in Nakhchivan,” he said.

Mercan said that no step disapproved by Azerbaijani and Turkish peoples will be taken, if there is peace, it will be in all parts of the Caucasus.

Chairman of Azerbaijani parliament’s international and interparliamentary relations committee Samad Seyidov said the members of the Turkish parliament’s commission and the Azerbaijani parliament’s committee should meet at least once in six months.

Seyidov said Turkish and Azerbaijani flags have always waved together.

“There were some problems, but they also showed the importance of our being together,” he said.

The meeting continues without participation of journalists.
