Discussions over "genocide" not so important on background of negotiations in Caucasus: U.S. congressman

23 October 2009 [12:43] - TODAY.AZ
"Congress should pay more attention to the negotiations in the Caucasus, than problem of the Armenian claims on the "genocide of 1915"," Co-Chair of the Turkey Caucus in the US Congress Robert Wexler said.
Wexler intends to leave Congress in 2010 and will take the post of Head of the Center for Middle East Peace and Economic Cooperation.

Two pro-Armenian senators in the United States, Robert Menendez and John Ensign, have introduced the so-called "Armenian Genocide Resolution" to the U.S. Senate.

Mr. Wexler believes that currently this issue is not so important on the background of the regional negotiations.
