As many as 1,469 candidates for municipal elections in Azerbaijan are women

The process of nominating candidates for municipal elections continues in Azerbaijan.
A total of 9,042 candidates have already been approved for 1,246 municipalities, the Central Election Commission (CEC) said.

As many as 1,469 of candidates are women; 3,928 persons from those nominated have higher education.

Nine political parties nominated candidates in the elections.

Lists for the collection of signatures have been provided to 7,490 candidates.

Azerbaijan will hold municipal elections on Dec. 23.
