Without solution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, opening of Turkey-Armenia borders can not be debated: Turkish MP

22 October 2009 [09:09] - TODAY.AZ
Without solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, opening Turkey-Armenia borders can not matter of debate, TRT 3 TV Channel reported quoting Turkish MP from the ruling Justice and Development Party Omer Chelik as saying.
The MP said some groups have turned the Turkish-Armenian protocols to an object of speculation.

"They believe that by signing the protocols, Turkey refused from the Kars Treaty and creates a deceptive image that allegedly Nakhchivan is under the threat of Armenians,"  Chelik said.

In fact Turkey has never retreated from the Kars Treaty and that the Armenian lobby has declared the Oct. 10 another day of mourning shows that signing of the protocols with Armenia is in favor of Turkey, Chelik added.
