Turkish Premier to visit Azerbaijan next week

15 August 2008 [12:33] - TODAY.AZ
Turkish Premier Erdoğan announced that he would go to Azerbaijan next week for a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev regarding his Caucasus plan and the security of the energy projects that concern Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
"The objective here is to let the peace in the region reign. The Caucasus pact will open this path," said Erdoğan.

For his part, Saakashvili claimed the pipelines passing through the Georgian territory were bombed.

Erdoğan praised his government's relief efforts and said the Turkish Red Crescent Society was the first to rush to the scene to help the victims in the Georgian-Russian conflict. He also promised to establish new buildings and a hospital in Gori, which was devastated during the war.
