15 May 2008 [12:53] - TODAY.AZ
The separatist Armenian authorities plan to take over the occupied Askeran and Lachin regions of Azerbaijan.
"Prime Minister" of the self-declared "Nagorno Karabakh Republic" Araz Arutyunyan introduced newly appointed leaders of the Askeran and Lachin (so called "Kasjatag") regions -Vagram Baqdasaryan and Kamo Martirosyan- to the regional council and heads of the communities.

When introducing the new head of the Lachin region administration, former chief of Department for migration, refugees and populating of "Nagorno Karabakh" Kamo Martirosyan, Ara Arutyunyan noted that the staff changes are caused by increasing attention of the "state" to the said region, where there are serious problems.

In particular, he stressed the need to accelerate the process of taking over this important region and ensure the progressive economic development.
