Baku Appellate Court refuses granting appeal of Azadlyg newspaper editor-in-chief

The due announcement was made by head of the newspaper Azer Ahmedov.

Thus, the Appellate Court considered the demand to grant Ganimat Zahid's claim unfounded and passed a verdict to uphold the decision of the Yasamal district court.

It should be noted that on March 7, the Yasamal district court of Baku, presided by judge Sudaba Mamedova, passed a verdict on the case of editor-in-chief of Azadlyg opposition daily Ganimat Zahid and Baku resident Vusal Hasanov.

In line with the verdict, Ganimat Zahid was sentenced to 4 years in prison and Vusal Hasanov to 1.5 years.
