Center of Democratic Elections puts meeting off

08 May 2008 [17:02] - TODAY.AZ
The Center of Democratic Elections, functioning in Azerbaijan, has postponed the meeting, scheduled for May 12.
Party chairman Ahmed Oruj said that the main cause of the delay was because the Baku city administration allowed to hold the meeting in the Bibieybat settlement.

"The parties, represented in the center, are not going to hold their action on this territory, as this place is not suitable for a meeting. We demand allocation of a place, where we can hold our action", he noted.

The party chairman also added that in the near future they intend to file a claim to the court against the Baku city administration.

It should be noted that the Center of Democratic Elections planned to hold an action on the violation of ceasefire by the Armenian armed forces. Among the places, proposed by the Center were the Azadlyg square, a square near Nariman Narimanov's cinema, Fizuli square, Jafar Jabbarli square and the square in front of the Ganjlik station.

It should be noted that the center includes the National-Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Classical Popular Front Party, Great Creation, Single Popular Front Party, Azerbaijan Green Party, Great Azerbaijan Party, Tekkamul party, Azadlyg party and Open Society Party.
