Police breaks up communists' demonstration in Baku, Azerbaijan

Representatives of separate communist parties of Azerbaijan tried to hold the May 1 demonstration in front of the proletarian memorial at the Nobel's Avenue today.
President of Che Gevara's fan club Samir Vezirov told Day.Az that during the action the policemen tried to break up the demonstration.

"In particular, we were not allowed to gather at the square. Our flags and slogans were taken off by the policemen, while the action involved at least 50 people.

In the result the head of the communist party "Yeni Nesil" Niyazi Rajabov, activists of the Mark-Lenin communist party Haji Hajiyev, Mubariz Askerov and another two activists have been arrested", he noted.

It should be noted that the following slogans were voiced during the action: "Let's not allow rise in prices of bread!", "It is necessary to return the Holiday of May 1", "Stop liberal reforms, which lead the country to a deadlock!" and others.
