Mubariz Qurbanly: "It would be more effective for opposition to voice its position via mass medias rather than by means of meetings"

01 May 2008 [14:16] - TODAY.AZ
"Meetings of the Azerbaijani opposition leaders will not be effective".

The due announcement was made by deputy executive secretary of Yeni Azerbaijani Party, parliamentarian Mubariz Qurbanly.

He said the ruling party has recently held surveys in the regions, which revealed that not all regional organizations of the Musavat party are functioning.

"Naturally, the government can not prohibit its citizens to assemble. At the same time, the meetings, which opposition leaders want to hold, will not attract the attention of voters. It would be more effective for opposition to voice its position via mass medias rather than by means of meetings.

In current conditions, the Musavat party will not involve more than 1,000 people at its meeting", noted he.
