Fazail Aghamaly: "Opposition will not represent a strong power at presidential elections in Azerbaijan"

26 April 2008 [09:20] - TODAY.AZ
"At the coming presidential elections the leaders of Azerbaijani opposition will gain less votes than in 2003".
The due announcement was made by Fazail Aghamaly, parliamentarian and Ana Veten party chairman.

He said in current conditions opposition manipulates interests of people, saying it can use the protesting electorate and gain maximal votes during the presidential elections.

"Such announcements are senseless. Since the moment of being elected the president of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev managed to demonstrate his abilities. The most important political capital is in his hands-trust of voters and recognition of the international structures. There is no unity among the opposition, it is split and does not represent a real power at presidential elections in Azerbaijan.

Party chairman also added that the preparation for the session is nearing its end. The arrangement is expected to be held in the first decade of June.
