Deputy US Secretary of State: "The United States support reforms of Azerbaijan in the institutional sphere"

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov received Deputy US Secretary of State on economy, energy, agriculture Ruben Jeffrey, visiting Baku, the press service for Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry told Day.Az.

The visitor noted that the United States supports Azerbaijan's reforms in the institutional sphere and economic achievements.

Jeffrey noted that the energy diversification has an important strategic meaning and the United States are interested in this issue.

In turn, Mamedyarov highly appreciated US support to Azerbaijan, in particular, in the implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project as well as in export of energy source to the European markets.

The sides also exchanged views regarding the development on the non-oil sector, agro-business, tourism, improvement of investment climate, cooperation in the sphere of ecology. It was noted that these issues are necessary to be discussed in the US-American Commission on economic cooperation and inform business-circles on the current economic potential.
