Azerbaijani human rights activists meet with secretary of CoE Venice Commission

Azerbaijani human rights activists-Novella Jafaroghlu, Saida Gojamanly and Saadat Bananyarli, visiting Strasburg for participation in the PACE spring session, met with secretary of the CoE Venice Commission Gianni Bukiccio.

According to Day.Az, the due announcement was made by Arzu Abdullayeva, chairman of the Azerbaijan National Committee for the Helsinki Civil Assembly.

She during the meeting the sides discussed freedom of assembly, amendments to the Electoral Code, creation of a group for investigating facts of violations during the elections, situation with media and others.

Abdullayev noted that the human rights activists also met with PACE co-rapporteurs on Azerbaijan Andres Herkel and Eugenia Zhivkova, deputy commissioner for human rights Alexander Gessel, chairman of the group of socialists in PACE and others.
