Mubariz Ahmedoghlu: "Serzh Sarkissyan's presidency is a Pyrrhic victory of the "Karabakh clan" over the Armenian people"

How would you comment on the appointment of Edward Nalbandyan as Foreign Minister of Armenia?

-I don't think that Edward Nalbandyan will be worse than Vardan Oskanyan for Armenia. In particular, the recent improvement of relations between France and Armenia was owing to the former ambassador of Armenia to this country Nalbandyan. We have already witnessed France's comprehensive support to Armenia.

In particular, we remember the decision of the French Senate to adopt a law envisioning punishment for rejection of the fact of "genocide" of Armenians in 1915. We remember that Reporters Without Borders, headquartered in France, once vividly criticizing Azerbaijan, kept silent about the bloody events in Yerevan, about the actions the Armenian authorities undertook against the reporters, who strive to write about the truth, and against the freedom of speech.

On the whole, France gave no reaction on the fact that a greater part, if not the majority, of the Armenian population openly stated mass falsifications in the presidential elections in Armenia and the ways the "Karabakh clan" imposed its representative Serzh Sarkissyan to the Armenian society.

The top French cynicism were the congratulations sent to Serzh Sarkissyan due to his being elected a president by the chairman of the European Court of Human Rights Jean-Marie Cost, who is French native. This was after the whole world witnessed what "human rights" mean in Armenia!

These facts prove the flexibility of conscience and selectiveness in the assessments by French representatives on the one hand and that Nalbandyan was successfully fulfilling his duties on the position of the Armenian ambassador to France, on the other hand. Perhaps, his contributions promoted his being appointed as the new Foreign Minister of Armenia.

-How would you assess the activity of former Foreign Minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanyan?

-I think Vardan Oskanyan will be recalled as a prominent master of lie. He attempted to overstate the advantages of Armenia and hide the great shortages existing in this country.

At the same time, he was quite a sober-minded official. Therefore, when quitting his post, he was obliged to say that international capital of Armenia has been lost. This is the reality.

But this is the "Karabakh clan" which should be blamed for all the events, as the Foreign Ministry is just a conductor of external policy, which is defined by the President of the country.

-By the way, is Nalbandyan a representative of the "Karabakh clan"?

-No, he is not. Moreover, there are no facts, proving any sympathy of Robert Kocharyan or Serzh Sarkissyan to him. Therefore, we can state that Serzh Sarkissyan decided to appoint Nalbandyan the head of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia seeing the success he reached being the Armenian ambassador to France.

So, we have clarified the issue of the "Karabakh clan". How do you think, what will be the future of the former president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan?

-I think Ter-Petrosyan expects the completion of the formation of the whole leading team. By the end of the process, I do not rule out the expansion of his opportunities and influence.

The thing is that during the struggle between the "Karabakh clan" and the people of Armenia, Serzh Sarkissyan openly voiced hope that his candidacy will be supported by most ministers and other senior officials. As we know, most of the senior officials and ministers did not obey him and then he announced significant changes in the new government.

This means that a number of senior officials in Armenia may prepare for dismissal from the positions and transfer to the opposition. Ter-Petrosyan will have a significant power in their persons. If so, we can state that Serzh Sarkissyan's presidency is a Pyrrhic victory of the "Karabakh clan" over the Armenian people and that its ruling will be accompanied by great failures in the international arena and inner instability, growing antagonism between the usurpers and their victims.
