Azerbaijan's Consul General in Los Angeles takes part in conference "Peace and Security in Eurasia"

The Monterrey Institute of International Researches of California held a conference on "Peace and Security in Eurasia" with participation of representatives of GUAM member-states.
In particular, the issues of regional cooperation in the framework of GUAM were discussed by Moldova ambassador to Washington Nikolai Chirtoaka, Georgia's permanent representative in UN Irakli Alazaniya, Ukraine's consul general in San Franscisco Micola Tochitski and Azerbaijan's consul general in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov, as source from Azerbaijan's Consulate General in Los Angeles told Day.Az.

Speaking about the objectives and principles of the orgaization, the participants stressed GUAM's role in ensuring energy safety of Europe and efforts of the member-states aimed at the resolution of conflicts in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova.

Special attention was paid to strategic importance of Azerbaijan as a leading GUAM country in the economic sphere.

The event was organized by the recently created Rottary Club of Monterrei. Thus, the conference has become not only the first event on such a topic in north of California, but also the first such initiative for the club.
