Should we send OSCE Minsk Group to hell?

17 March 2008 [17:28] - TODAY.AZ
Judo has a term "ipon" which means "pure victory".

A referee in sport gives this grade only when ipon is evident. It occurs seldom, when the lost side rebuts his defeat.

However, after a brilliant diplomatic and pure victory in the United Nations, we have to deal with the Armenian side, which in fact may rebut the multiplication table as well.

But this is not the main frustrating point. The main thing is the inappropriate behavior of the OSCE Minsk Group, which voted against this fair resolution.

A joke comes to mind in this connection.

An old lawyer calls his son on his deathbed^

- My son, you will inherit three villas, many acres of land, a large account, park of cars and the case of the property conflict of two banks, which I have been mediating for already 20 years.

The son leaves and comes to his father in a week and said he had settled the problem of the two banks and the banks had reached an agreement. The old lawyer said:

-My son, I didn't know that you are a full idiot. While I was settling the property dispute of these two banks, I had bought three villas, many acres of lands, a park of cars and opened a large account in the bank...

This joke is just in time when you analyze the activity of the OSCE Minsk Group. A sincere foreign diplomat has once said in the private conversation with me: "Hey, you don't listen to us even now and conduct your own policy. What would happen if the Karabakh conflict is settled. Will you ignore us?"

Unfortunately, the Karabakh conflict has already turned into the arena of influence, search of ways to influence our country. The tragedy of millions of people has become a game, while the justice and international law has been forgotten as an unlucky attempt to fulfill bedroom duties at the first night.

The OSCE Minsk Group has already exhausted its potential. This format turned out to be ineffective and too selfish.

The United States, Russia and France, carrying out global war on terror, lower themselves to listening to the terrorist arguments of the Armenian side. No, I am not mistaken and not filled with emotions. Terrorists capture hostages and put forward their claims. The same can be said about Armenia, which has occupied our lands and puts forward their claims, while the fifth or the sixth summon Minsk Group listens to them and follows them, calling on us to accept the reality.

I would like to remind that on September 11 of 2001, the terrorists terminated two buildings in the United States. Let them be good, but they were just two. America's reaction was fair. They occupied Afghanistan and Iraq. However, no one has ever thought of calling on George Bush to listen to arguments of for example Molla Omar, though he could also say something wise.

The same was also done by Russia after terrorists exploded several houses in Moscow and other cities.

Not one and not two but tens of thousands of establishments were exploded and terminated in Azerbaijan, tens of thousands of people were killed, a million of people were driven away, while OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs call on us to continue the peaceful negotiations, following the Armenia's terrorist claims.

Our announcements on double standards are ridden to death. This phrase has been made up by diplomats while the Baku streets have more concrete definition and in this case I think people are right.

I think after this betrayal we have both legal and moral right to reject the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group, which means send it to hell...
