President of NATO Parliamentary assembly to visit Azerbaijan

President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly Jose Lello is to arrive in Azerbaijan on March 4.

Spokesman for Milli Medjlis Akif Nasirov told Novosti-Azerbaijan that Lello's main meetings in Baku will start on March 5.

Before official meetings President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is expected to visit Honored Alley and Martyrs'Alley.

The diplomat will hold a number of meetings in Milli Medjlis, in particular, with members of permanent parliamentary commissions on security and defense issues, international relations and inter-parliamentary relations, as well as members of Azerbaijani parliament in the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, led by vice-speaker Ziyafet Askerov.

Lello will also meet with Milli Medjlis chairman Oqtay Asadov to discuss prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

In the second half of the day the NATO Parliamentary Assembly's President will meet with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov.

In the framework of the visit to Baku, Jose Lello will hold a number of meetings. He is expected to be received by Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev.

The 68th seminar Rose Rout will be opened with participation of Jose Lello in the Park Inn hotel in Baku on March 6. Jose Lello will make a report during the event.

The seminar, to be attended by representatives of 25 countries and international organizations, will discuss security issues in the Caspian and Central-Asian region, energy security, relations between the West and Central Asia, as well as issues of democracy, human rights and others.

The NATO seminar will complete on March 8.
