Most Azeris oppose anti-Iran coalition

14 May 2006 [09:40] - TODAY.AZ
Most Azeris are against the country’s joining an international coalition against Iran, a recent survey says.

Western countries suspect that Iranian uranium enrichment program conceals a drive for atomic warheads, which Iran denies. The United States has not ruled out a strike on Iran.

According to AssA-Irada, 60% of respondents in the poll, entitled "Should Azerbaijan take part in the anti-Iranian coalition in the event military action begins?" held by the Deyerler (Values) online analytical publication among a hundred Azeri public and political figures, gave a negative answer.

27% of those polled said the country should be part of the coalition, while 3% had difficulty answering the question, and 10% refused to respond.
