4523 local and 224 foreign elections observers registered by CEC

5260 citizens applied to the Central Election Commission (CEC) for observing the parliamentary elections", informed the pres service of the CEC.

4523 of them have been registered as observers and 4466 of them were issued cards. 100 observers of “Azadlig” bloc were registered among the political parties and blocs. The rest parties and blocs have not presented observers.29 mass media representatives have applied to the CEC so far and most of them have been registered as observers. This figure, however, is expected to increase much till the elections.

224 foreign citizens have been registered as observers.46 of them are representatives of OSCE Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, 133 of the CIS Observation Mission, three of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly, two of the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES) , three of Ukrainian CEC, two of Georgian CEC, one of Eurasia Foundation , three of the International Crisis Group, 25 of Diplomatic and Strategic Researches Center and six of them represent the Magdeburg University of Germany.

44 representatives of foreign mass media were registered in the CEC.18 of them are from the Reuters Agency, one The International French Radio, three from CBS TV and Radio Company of Canada , four from “TVS” TV and Radio Company of Japan , three from “Al Jazerra” Television, one from “Dubai” television, six from TRT representation in Baku , two from Anatolia Agency, one from “ItarTASS” agency and one from Mir Interstate TV and Radio Company.
