NATO official names Azerbaijan a valuable partner for Alliance

NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Tacan ?ldem, who is on a visit to Baku, stated that Azerbaijan is a valuable partner for the Alliance.

“NATO highly appreciates Azerbaijan's participation in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan. Participation of Azerbaijan in these operations is a great contribution in solving Euro-Atlantic challenges,” said ?ldem as he attends 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku.

Appreciating Azerbaijan's active participation in "Resolute support" peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, he stressed that NATO and Azerbaijan cooperate in defense, security and other fields.

Speaking about the importance of the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue , ?ldem described this event as very important initiative in solving a number of problems in the modern world, Azertac reported.

The forum is organized in cooperation with UNESCO, the UN Alliance of Civilizations, the UN World Tourism Organization (WTO), the Council of Europe, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the North-South Center of the Council of Europe.

The event brings together more than 800 foreign delegations, including high-ranking state and government officials, heads of international organizations, parliamentary leaders, renowned scholars, ambassadors and public figures.

The agenda includes topics such as the role of faith, religions, migration, human security, sport, education, art, sustainable development, preventing violent extremism, business in building trust and cooperation among cultures and civilizations.
