Mehriban Aliyeva’s becoming First VP to bring new wind to Azerbaijan’s socio-political life

Mehriban Aliyeva carries out multifaceted activity and one of the areas of this activity is her work as an MP, said Ogtay Asadov, speaker of Azerbaijan’s parliament.

Mrs. Aliyeva has always attached importance to development of the parliament culture, participated in the development of legislative framework and put forward a number of legislative initiatives, Asadov told the Parliament’s plenary session March 7.

Asadov reminded that Mehriban Aliyeva was the initiator of four amnesty acts, through which tens of thousands of people were freed.

“Mehriban Aliyeva makes a significant contribution to the development of the parliament’s international relations, worthily represents the Azerbaijani people on international arena and brings the truth about the Azerbaijani people to the world community,” he said.

He noted that Mehriban Aliyeva is also well-known for her social and charitable activities.

Asadov said appointment of Mehriban Aliyeva as the first vice-president will bring a new wind to Azerbaijan’s socio-political life.

“On behalf of the Parliament, I congratulate Mehriban Aliyeva and wish her success.”
