Turkey's top officials to visit Baku

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Y?ld?r?m is expected to pay a visit to Azerbaijan in spring.

Ilyas Demirci, the General Secretary of the Union of Engineers and Architects of Turkish World, said that the PM’s visit to Azerbaijan is scheduled for March 16-18, Report.az reported.

A delegation headed by Yildirim will participate in the urban planning conference "Energy and transportation megaprojects covering continents" in Baku.

Moreover, Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Turkey Berat Albayrak will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in February.

Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral informed that Albayrak will take part in the third meeting of the Advisory Board of the "Southern Gas Corridor" scheduled for February 23.

The first meeting of the Advisory Board of the "Southern Gas Corridor" took place on February 12, 2015, and the second - on February 29, 2016.

The Southern Gas Corridor is a priority for the EU projects and provides transportation of 10 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas from the Caspian region via Georgia and Turkey to Europe.

February will also see the visit of Turkish Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Faruk Celik.

The ambassador noted that return visits of the Azerbaijani ministers to Turkey are expected in 2017.

Ozoral added that preparations underway for the sixth meeting of the high level of Azerbaijan-Turkey Strategic Cooperation Council.

With the aim of further strengthening bilateral relations, the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSC) mechanism was established in 2010 at the Presidential level. The Council was convened five times so far and the last round was held last March in Ankara.
