Elman Abdullayev: If the fact of the visit is confirmed, all the persons, who illegally visited our occupied territories, will be included in the list of “persona non grata”.

Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has instructed the embassy in Russia to investigate information about the visit of a number of Russian public figures to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Elman Abdullayev told that if the fact of the visit is confirmed, all the persons, who illegally visited our occupied territories, will be included in the list of “persona non grata”.

“Azerbaijan’s position in this matter is principled. The visits paid without coordination with relevant agencies of Azerbaijan are illegal and violate the law on the state border of Azerbaijan. Misleading people with such provocations Yerevan takes them to Azerbaijan’s occupied territories. This once again confirms the militaristic nature of Yerevan, which is not giving up its aggressive way of thinking and is trying to undermine the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict. With this approach Yerevan demonstrates its real intention – the intention to maintain the status quo and continue the occupation of Azerbaijani territories.

At the invitation of Moscow-based Armenia-Russia cooperation organization, a group of Russian journalists and public figures are visiting Armenia. According to Armenian media, the visit will last till August 30. As a part of the visit, the members of the delegation have visited Nagorno Karabakh. The delegation includes former Russian intelligence officer Anna Chapman, member of Russian Public Chamber Denis Dvornikov and others.
