Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents met in Baku - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President Vladimir Putin  completed his one-day visit to Azerbaijan on August 13.

At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, a guard of honor was lined up for the Russian President.

Vladimir Putin was seen off by Azerbaijan`s First Deputy Prime Minister, Co-Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Russia Intergovernmental Economic Commission Yagub Eyyubov and other officials.

President Ilham Aliyev  hosted a reception in honor of Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on August 13.

The two presidents made speeches at the event.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin visited Icherisheher (the Inner City), one of the world`s cultural heritage sites in Baku accompanied by his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

He viewed the Maiden Tower, a 7th-6th centuries BC monument.

President Putin was informed on the history of Icherisheher, which was classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin have viewed Russian Caspian Flotilla’s rocket ship “Dagestan” and “Baku” guard ship of the Azerbaijani Navy.

A ship delegation of Russia’s Caspian Flotilla arrived in Baku as part of the Russian leader`s visit to the country.

The Azerbaijani Navy’s delegation will also pay a reciprocal visit to Russia in the second half of the year.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin visited Highland Park in Baku accompanied by his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

The presidents toured the park, which was recently remodeled.

The two presidents enjoyed panoramic view of Baku from the Highland Park.

Following the expanded meeting between presidents Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijan and Russia have signed bilateral documents.

President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev and President of Rosneft Oil Company Igor Sechin signed “The Agreement on Cooperation between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Rosneft Oil Company” and “Main Terms of Oil Transportation between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Rosneft Oil Company”.

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov and Russian Minister for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters Vladimir Puchkov signed “Complex Plan of Cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry for Affairs for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters of the Russian Federation for 2013-2015”.

Azerbaijan`s Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov and Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov signed “The Agreement on Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Russian Federation in the Field of Aviation Search and Rescue”.

Azerbaijan`s Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov and Russian Minister of Transport Maksim Sokolov signed “The Agreement on Construction of a Highway Bridge over the Samur River in the area of Samur (the Republic of Azerbaijan) - Yarag-Gazmalar (the Russian Federation) Border Checkpoints through the Russia-Azerbaijan Borderline between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Russian Federation”.

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov signed “The Programme on Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in the Humanitarian Field until 2015”.

Following their talk in private, presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Vladimir Putin of Russia have been joined by their countries` delegations for an expanded meeting.
