U.S. city mayors deliver congratulatory letter on Heydar Aliyev's birthday

Washington Mayor Vincent Gray and Mayor of Savannah (U.S. state of Georgia ) Edna Branch Jackson sent congratulatory letters in connection with the 90th Anniversary of Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Embassy in the United States told Trend on Friday.

According to the report, both letters stress the role of Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev in strengthening allied relations between Azerbaijan and the United States, including Azerbaijan's unconditional support to the U.S. after the events of Sept.11, 2001.

The Savannah mayor also highlighted the efforts of the Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev in attracting the oil and gas resources of the Caspian Sea to ensure the energy security of Europe and maintain religious tolerance in an independent Azerbaijan.

Vincent Gray stressed the considerable development of Azerbaijan which was achieved under the leadership of Heydar Aliyev.
