President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Qobustan district - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today visited the Bag-Bagat Center as part of his Qobustan trip.

The Head of State toured the Center`s expanded area by an electric car.

The Azerbaijani leader was informed that like in capital Baku, resort centers and hotels meeting international standards had been constructed in the country`s regions too.

President Ilham Aliyev was told that the Center had been inaugurated two years ago and became a resort center for local people and foreigners.

The facility has three modern entertainment centers, as well as attractions and playgrounds. Two artificially created lakes make the Center more beautiful.

The construction of a state-of-the-art four-storey hotel will be finished soon.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the conditions created in the Qobustan Bagh-Baghat
Center.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inspected the reconstruction work on the Qobustan-Khilmilli highway.

The Azerbaijani President viewed photos reflecting technical indicators of the facility.
The construction of the highway started in September, 2011.

The highway links 6 villages with the total population of 13,000 people. The Qobustan-Khilmilli highway is 23 km in length.

President Ilham Aliyev allocated AZN 2 million for the construction of the highway in 2011, and AZN 5.3 million in 2012.

The Head of State also met local residents and congratulated them on the occasion of the opening of the highway. The residents thanked the President.

President Ilham Aliyev tested the highway by driving a car.

The President also met residents of Khilmilli village.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today opened the Youth Center in Qobustan.
The Head of State cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Center, and then toured it.
A photo stand reflecting meetings of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev with youth was installed in the foyer of the center.

The Youth Center has drawing studios, a shooting club, an internet cafe, a 3D movie theatre, a 210-seat conference hall, offices and auxiliary rooms. It will provide computer courses.

The area of the center`s building is 882 square meters.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today inaugurated the Qobustan Sports Complex.
The Head of State cut a red ribbon symbolizing the opening of the complex.

Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov informed the Azerbaijani leader about the facility.

All conditions have been created here for holding sports tournaments.

Photo stands reflecting care and attention of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to development of sports in Azerbaijan were installed in the foyer of the complex.

The facility covers a total area of 2.67 hectares. The construction of the Qobustan Sports Complex cost AZN 5 million, and was carried out on the request of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The facility has a 900-seat sports hall, offices and auxiliary rooms.

President Ilham Aliyev viewed football, basketball, and tennis grounds.

The Head of State was presented with models of the Lankaran and Tartar olympic sports complexes.

The Azerbaijani leader met local residents.

On behalf of Qobustan`s residents and sportsmen, local resident Babak Alibabayev thanked President Ilham Aliyev for his care and attention.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today visited the Flag Square in a park in the center of Qobustan.

The Head of State was informed that the Square covers a total area of two hectares.

Measuring 10 by 20 meters, the flag flies on a pole 50 meters in height.

President Ilham Aliyev praised the conditions created here.

The Head of State laid flowers at a monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the city center.

Head of Qobustan Executive Authorities Adil Mammadov informed the Azerbaijani President on construction and redevelopment work in the district.
