Prseident Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan making every possible effort to ensure close cooperation among Islamic countries - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received participants of the conference of Labor Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baku.

The Azerbaijani leader said the country had hosted five ministerial conferences of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation in recent years, expressing confidence “the current Baku gathering will also be a success”.

“This means that Azerbaijan is not just an active member of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation, but is also hosting high-profile events of the organization.”

The President said: “The issues discussed at the conference are of profound importance to all countries, including Azerbaijan.”
President Ilham Aliyev said great work had been done in Azerbaijan to eradicate poverty and unemployment. The Head of State praised the idea of founding the Employment Center of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation in Baku, saying it would strengthen unity among Islamic countries.

The President highlighted the causes and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

On behalf of the ministers, Saudi Arabia's Deputy Minister of Labour Mofarrej al-Haqbani thanked the Azerbaijani President for excellent organization of the event and for high hospitality.

Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security Faruk Celik extended greetings of Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to President Ilham Aliyev.

Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Zikra Ayed Al Rashidi congratulated the Azerbaijani President on his country`s achievements on the international scene.

Palestinian Minister of Labor Ahmed Majdalani extended President Mahmud Abbas`s greetings to the Azerbaijani leader. He thanked President Ilham Aliyev for supporting Palestine.

The Azerbaijani President made closing remarks at the meeting, saying his country was making every possible effort to ensure close cooperation among Islamic countries.

The Head of State emphasized the necessity of expanding the economic relations between Islamic countries and their cooperation in international organizations.

President Ilham Aliyev also underlined the necessity of eradicating Islamophobic tendencies.
