Azerbaijani ambassador meets Jordan`s official

Azerbaijani ambassador Sabir Aghabayov has met newly appointed chairman of Jordan`s House of Representatives Saed Hayel As-Srour.
Aghabayov presented Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov`s letter to the Jordanian chairman.

They discussed prospects for the Azerbaijan-Jordan cooperation, organization of bilateral meetings between the two countries` legislative bodies, as well as establishment of a friendship group in the Jordanian parliament.

The Azerbaijani ambassador spoke about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying Armenia has not yet implemented the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
The Chair of Jordan`s House of Representatives noted the Jordanian government supported Azerbaijan`s just position on the conflict.

The meeting also focused on the adoption of a statement by the Jordanian House of Representatives recognizing the Khojaly tragedy as a crime against humanity.

Aghabayov said the Organization of Islamic Cooperation had adopted a resolution recognizing the Khojaly tragedy as genocide and the legislative bodies of Pakistan, Mexico, the Czech Republic, Columbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a range of US states had issued statements condemning the massacre.
