28 February 2013 [13:31] - TODAY.AZ
A member of the French National Assembly, Chairman of the France-Azerbaijan parliamentary friendship group Thierry Mariani and 13 members of French MPs issued a statement on beating of two Azerbaijanis by Armenians and French MPs in the parliament building on February 26 in France.

According to the statement, the incident is unacceptable aggression and should be punished, "The National Assembly of France has always been a place of mutual respect, dialogue and exchange of views. Therefore, we very strongly condemn the incident, which occurred within the institution.

“On February 26, in the National Assembly of France two Azerbaijanis including one women were beaten by participants during the conference "Sumgait events after 25 years: the present situation and future prospects for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh" held by the Armenian Issues Bureau in France.

This, unprecedented fact in the National Assembly can not be treated indifferently and procreators of this aggression should be punished. It is also unacceptable intolerance and a blow to a constructive dialogue. In the South Caucasus, where Armenia, despite the resolutions of the international community is still holding part of Azerbaijani territory under military occupation, peace can be achieved only through constructive dialogue."
