Russian Embassy to Azerbaijan comments on scandalous article posted at RIA Novosti`s website

“Official Moscow`s position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has not changed. Journalist Vadim Dubnov`s article entitled “Nagorno Karabakh got used to being unrecognized for 25 years” posted on the website of RIA Novosti agency can not cast shadow on this position,” Russian ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin has said at a meeting with Azerbaijan`s deputy foreign minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev.

The comment has been posted on the website of the Russian Embassy.
The Russian ambassador promised to inform Moscow of Azerbaijan`s position.

Dorokhin said at the meeting that the article had already been removed from the website of RIA Novosti, adding at present the agency`s administration was studying the details.
The diplomat also noted he shared Mammadguliyev`s opinion that Azerbaijan-Russia friendly relations must be protected thourgh joint efforts.

On the eve of the 21st anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, RIA Novosti published Dubnov`s article which prompted the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to summon the Russian ambassador and give him a formal note of protest.
