Azerbaijani top official eulogizes posting on Khojaly petition at White House`s website

Chief of the department for socio-political affairs at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov praised posting on a petition calling for condemnation of the Khojaly tragedy on the White House`s website, calling this a positive step.

Hasanov told journalists the demands reflected in the petition would be taken into consideration by the White House.

The Presidential Administration`s official pointed out the Khojaly genocide had been recognized by Columbia, Mexico, Pakistan and Czechia, as well as 6 states of the U.S.

Hasanov also said at present this issue was under discussion in Romania and other countries, hoping that the Turkish government and parliament would give relevant assessment to the tragedy in the future. He added hearings had been held several times in the Turkish parliament on this issue, which was given assessment on the level of municipalities.

Hasanov noted the Azerbaijani authorities had great respect for Turkish martyrs who fought for the freedom of Baku, adding monuments were erected to them in the Alley of Martyrs and other regions of the country.
