Delegation head mentiones strengthening CE-Azerbaijan coop

27 January 2013 [09:15] - TODAY.AZ
The Council of Europe has once again proved at the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly that it is ready for constructive cooperation with Azerbaijan, PACE vice president, head of the Azerbaijani delegation Samad Seyidov told media today.

"This is the success not only of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PACE, but the country's foreign policy pursued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev," he said. "The talks at PACE have shown once again that these attempts against Azerbaijan are rejected by Europe as they pose a threat even for Europe."

He said that an attempt was made to use such high values as human rights and democracy to put pressure on Azerbaijan through Strasser's report pursuing guileful purposes.

The number of friendship groups of the Azerbaijani parliament, as well as its authority, significantly increased, Seyidov said.

"The work was undertaken at various levels to bring Azerbaijan's position with the parliaments of Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, France, Great Britain, Italy and other countries in the period before the PACE winter session," Seyidov said.
