
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed the cooperation within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) with ambassadors of the CIS countries in Moscow on Jan. 21, the Russian Foreign Ministry's website said today.
A traditional annual meeting in the working lunch format was held in Moscow.
The urgent issues of cooperation within the Commonwealth, including the economic, political and humanitarian spheres were discussed, the report said. The participants have welcomed the results of 2012 and exchanged views on the prospects of developing the integration processes in Eurasia, Euro-Atlantic and the role of the CIS countries in these processes.
The actions of further strengthening the international positions of the Commonwealth, coordinating the foreign policy actions were considered, the ministry's website said today.
