Azerbaijan-Indonesia`s relations mulled

Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Indonesia Tamerlan Garayev has met the leader of the country`s largest Muslim Organization Nahdlatul Ulama KH.Said Aqil Siradj.
The sides noted that the sincere friendship and brotherly relations has established between the two countries.

They also exchanged views on current state of the Azerbaijan-Indonesia`s relations.
The Ambassador briefed KH.Said Aqil Siradj on Armenian aggression, as well as destruction of the hundreds of cities and towns, thousands of social and cultural buildings, educational and healthcare facilities, historical and cultural monuments, museums, mosques, sacred places and cemeteries.

He expressed his regret on the fact that Muslim World hadn`t given any reaction to these issues. Mr. Garayev noted that Azerbaijani people believes in Indonesia`s real brotherhood on this occasion.

KH.Said Aqil Siradj and the other members of the Nahdlatul Ulama organization, in turn, noted that they wouldn`t stay indifferent on the crimes perpetrated by Armenians.

KH.Said Aqil Siradj said that they would support the dissemination of the truth on Armenia`s aggression to Azerbaijan in Indonesia.

Nahdlatul Ulama (also Nahdatul Ulama or NU) is a traditionalist Sunni Islam group in Indonesia.
The NU was established on January 31, 1926 as a reaction to the modernist Muhammadiyah organization.

The NU is one of the largest independent Islamic organizations in the world. Some estimates of its membership range as high as 30 million, although it is hard to account for this number. NU acts as a charitable body, helping to fill in many of the shortcomings of the Indonesian government in society; it funds schools, hospitals, and organizes communities or kampungs into more coherent groups in order to help combat poverty.
