Azerbaijan`s aid convoy arrives in Iran`s quake-hit region

Azerbaijan has today sent its first humanitarian aid convoy to Iran`s Eastern Azerbaijan province, which was struck by a devastating quake on Saturday.

The convoy, which includes three heavy goods vehicles loaded with shelters, blankets and drinking water, entered the territory of Iran from Julfa (Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan)-Julfa (Iran) border checkpoint at 2200 local time on August 12.

According to Azerbaijan`s Consulate General in Iran, the Ministry of Emergency Situations will also send its convoy of humanitarian aid to Iran shortly.
