Frontex delegation visits Azerbaijan

A delegation from Frontex, the European Union agency for external border security, led by Executive Director Ilkka Laitinen on Thursday visited Azerbaijan at the invitation of the Chief of Azerbaijan`s State Border Service.

During the visit, the delegation has met with Chief of the State Border Service, Lieutenant General Elchin Guliyev.

Guliyev briefed the delegation on Azerbaijan`s border security system, the activity of State Border Service, the implementation of the reforms and achievements.

They exchanged views on the current state and prospects of the bilateral cooperation, as well as the development of normative-legal base between the two sides and expansion of activity within International Conference on Border Affairs.

The delegation also became familiar with the activity of SBS`s Academy, Coast Guard and Olympic sports complex “Sarhadchi”.
