Azerbaijan`s role in int'l peacemaking operations mulled

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today met the delegation led by Member of Parliament for Harrow East Bob Blackman.

They discussed ongoing processes in the South Caucasus and Middle East regions, Azerbaijan`s role in international peacemaking operations and its activity in Afghanistan.

Mammadyarov briefed the delegation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
He noted that non-constructive position of Armenia, as well as the holding of so-called presidential elections in Azerbaijan`s occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region was negatively affecting the negotiation process.

They also praised Azerbaijan`s growing international prestige and its strengthening position in the world. The sides also discussed Azerbaijan`s activity in the UN Security Council, as well as cooperation with international organizations.
