
German`s “Die Welt” newspaper published an article on the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The article says: Azerbaijan, one of the post-soviet countries, which plays a role of bridge between Europe and Asia, turned into modern and rapidly developing energy center, the significance of which is outside the limits of the South Caucasus and Caspian basin and drew a wide response in the international arena. Azerbaijan is not only a place of activity of the big companies but also different cultures. Balance is kept in all fields of life, the right and multi-vector development. It is one of the priorities of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.”
“The Heydar Aliyev Foundation actively supports projects in culture, education, science, technology, ecology and sports. The Foundation functions at the national and international level. Their aims are to find a common in different cultures, provide co-existence in a period of globalization. Azerbaijan locates in geostrategic space, where different world-views and mode of life, different cultural and religious interests are intercrossed and harmony of the Eastern and Westerns cultures is being observed. The Foundation allotted € 1.5 million to restoration of the church in Strasbourg and signed memorandum on restoration of some monuments in Vatican, Rome.”
“At the forums organized jointly with the UN, Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other authoritative organizations, the Foundation gained great achievements in elimination of illiteracy, gender equality, protection of children rights, elimination of race and religious discrimination, development of humanitarian dialogue, multiculturalism and tolerance.”
The publication cites the thoughts of Azerbaijan`s first lady, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva: “The biggest challenge the today`s world faces – falsification of the intellectual values and their substitution by the ideas have no some values”.
“Azerbaijan is popular with its amicability and capital Baku, which creates harmony of the new and historical buildings and protects the cultural heritage”.
