
Members of working group on Azerbaijan-Mexico interparliametary ties have met today visiting Mexican delegation led by deputy chairman of Senate Francisco Arroyo Vieyra.
Head of the working group Ulvi Guliyev said the visit would contribute to development of friendly relations between the two countries and peoples. He said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to relationship with Mexico.
During the meetingç the Mexican senators were briefed on the ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan and major regional projects initiated by the country.
Guliyev also thanked the delegation for the decisions adopted by the Mexican Senate on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as well as recognition of Khojaly genocide. He added adopting the decision Mexico had recognized Armenia as an aggressor and the Khojaly tragedy as genocide.
Francisco Arroyo Vieyra said Azerbaijan`s rapid development made deep impression on members of the delegation. “Azerbaijan is an independent, powerful country implementing the largest economic projects in region. Though Azerbaijan has restored independence 20 years agoç the country has its say in Europe and some international organizations. Mexico is interested in development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres.”
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
