Azerbaijan`s First Lady holds several meetings- PHOTOS

Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has today met head of a mission of the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Mohamed Ruiqi.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s vice president Leyla Aliyeva attended the meeting.

Mehriban Aliyeva highlighted the Foundation`s activity. She said that established in 2004, the foundation had been implementing many projects in a wide range of areas, particularly in the humanitarian field. She said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation had close cooperation with the United Nations, adding they had implemented a number of joint projects.

The Azerbaijani first lady expressed confidence this cooperation would continue.
Mehriban Aliyeva said she believes the visit by the FAO mission would contribute to developing the bilateral cooperation.

The president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation said the government of Azerbaijan was ready to assist FAO.

Mehriban Aliyeva said that being a non-governmental organization, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was also ready for cooperation with FAO. She spoke of the Foundation`s cooperation with international organizations, in particular UNICEF and UNESCO.

Mohamed Ruiqi praised the activity of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and the Foundation`s vice president Leyla Aliyeva.

They discussed cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and FAO`s office in Rome, as well as issues related to food security.

Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has today met ambassador of Lithuania Kestutis Kudzmanas who completes his diplomatic mission in the country.

Mrs. Aliyeva said bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania were steadily developing.
The Azerbaijani first lady wished Kudzmanas successes in his future activity.

Mehriban Aliyeva thanked the diplomat for fruitful cooperation with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, expressing hope that the implementation of joint projects between the two countries would be continued.

“I`m sure our cooperation experience is an example of how to establish relations between friendly countries.”

Kudzmanas hailed projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The ambassador spoke of work and projects carried out as part of a Memorandum of Understanding on humanitarian cooperation signed between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Embassy of Lithuania in Azerbaijan during his tenure.

He added these projects would be continued.
